Okay so this recipe isn't completely homemade, but it tastes just as good! You could make the pizza dough from scratch using your favorite recipe and then this would be ALL homemade! (PS: I'll get to work on my own pizza dough recipe for the future.) In the meantime however, this pizza is perfect for lunch or dinner for the whole family! Even my brother loves it and he is a pizza snob! Check out the recipe below for this delicious and easy BBQ Pizza!
Servings: 2
Ingredients:
-Store bought pizza crust/dough mix (you will need flour if you buy dough mix)
-1/3 cup your favorite BBQ sauce (a thinner sauce works best for this recipe)
-1/2 can garbanzo beans
-1/4 cup Daiya mozzarella shredded cheese
-1/4 medium size red onion, sliced
Directions for store bought pizza dough mix:
1. Mix the pizza dough according to package directions.
2. Place a thin layer flour on a clean counter top and roll dough to the shape, size, and thickness you desire making sure not to add too much flour in to the dough.
3. Place the dough on a non-stick pizza pan or stone
*Be sure to check the packaging, you may need to bake the dough slightly before adding on the toppings!
4. Continue with number 1 under store bought pizza crust directions.
Directions for store bought pizza crust:
1. Spread out a decently thick, but not too thick, layer of BBQ sauce on the pizza crust.
2. Add on all of the chickpeas, red onion, and cheese.
3. Place the pizza in the oven and cook according to package directions.
*I like to broil my pizza for 1 minute at the very end to help melt the cheese and crisp the crust! I also add a little bit of BBQ sauce after the pizza is cooked for a more saucy pizza!
4. Enjoy!
