French Toast

I love a good french toast and I can't even remember the last time I had it! This recipe includes a little extra protein to make it somewhat nutritious, but still delicious. Everyone at some point in their life has a loaf of bread that's been sitting on the counter for just a little too long, so why not make it into a nice breakfast! Check out the recipe below!


Servings: 2

Ingredients:

-2 tbsp Birch Benders plant protein pancake mix

-1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

-4 slices of bread (or more depending on the size, we used 4 large slices of sourdough bread)

-1/8 tsp cinnamon

-Olive oil (to grease the pan)

-Optional topping ideas: Bananas, berries, agave, maple syrup, nut butter, really anything!


Directions:

1. In a shallow pan, large enough to fit your bread, mix together the pancake mix, almond milk, and cinnamon.

2. Take one slice of bread and soak both sides in this mix, then place it in a greased pan over medium-high heat on the stove.

3. Let this cook until it gets golden brown, then flip to the other side and let cook until it gets golden brown.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each slice of bread until the mixture is gone.

5. Top your french toast with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
